Nice video, Mark. The music neatly covers up the sound of people gasping for breath while kicking steps uphill. I'm glad you included the water trickling behind the ice at the end. Thanks also for your and Dicey's photos, and Jon's excellent verbal images.

Mark, I thought you had agreed with Dicey's suggestion to speed up the film, so we looked faster! Sad thought: Maybe Mark did speed it up. frown.gif Now I know where all those Matt-with-tea summit shots come from. up.gif Paraphrasing Ernie Banks, let's do it again! (Although I just read that the Mt. Loop Hwy is now closed past Silverton, so maybe to a different place...)

Is Dickerman a popular snowshoe trail? I'm going solo this weekend and don't want to put myself in any avalanche danger.

Check the avalanche forecast : http://www.nwac.us/forecast/avalanche/current/zone/10/ before you go and make sure you know the elevation profile. mbg

Since the Mountain Loop is currently gated at Deer Creek, count on a 17ish mile RT + 3900ft of gain. Start early!

I'm not always sure I like being older but being less stupid has advantages. http://www.flickr.com/photos/32121172@N00/sets/
