This is not correct. Weather balloon data shows that jet stream velocity is unchanged.

Also: "The Strongest Summer Jet Stream to Hit the Pacific Northwest EVER! The plot below shows the climatology of the winds at this level throughout the year at this location, with the red lines being the all-time record for each date (the black lines are average winds for the date, blue lines, the record low winds). Vertical soundings at Quillayute go back to the late 1960s...so we are talking about a half-century of observations. The previous record was around 110 knots...so the 140 knots observed today absolutely shattered the record. In fact, the wind over us right now is greater then the records for any date from April 1 to mid-October. A truly unusual event. And one that should not be pinned on global warming. In fact, several of the global warming jet stream papers (e.g., by Jennifer Francis and others) suggest that global warming will bring a weak and wavy jet stream. This is just the opposite." https://cliffmass.blogspot.com/2019/07/the-strongest-summer-jet-stream-to-hit.html

Scientism has many faces. One is attempting to delegitimize scientific dissent by claiming there must be something wrong with those pesky folks who refuse to budge from applying actual science and logic.

When claimimg 'science' is what you're standing for ....using peer pressure, logical fallacies, ridicule, personal attacks, and all the other hallmarks of not science, snark and a smile is not going to do it either The lack of valid actual science for the unique claims being made is simply not the problem of those who note the fact of all the failings. It's the problem chosen by folks who are attempting to claim science tells us something it does not.

Indeed, one can go down the list for hurricanes, tornadoes, droughts, heat waves (using un'corrected' temp measurements) etc, and see not only are the claims false, the records are consistent within ranges of normal variation. The idea that lower temp differentials equator to pole would make stronger storms is so ignorant of basics it's laughable. The contrast between their own predictions for jet streams vs reality is yet another case. But you cannot falsify what people will not accept as falsified. The data is irrelevant when its subordinated to the resistance to being shown wrong If the catastrophists actually believed their own press they'd make drastic changes in their lives for the good of the Earth. Instead they prefer to wait to force others to serve the ends so that they're not as inconvenienced by living their own ideas

Meanwhile, the anti-human maniacs at Extinction Rebellion have been sloppy with their security and their funding sources are interesting. George Soros The European Climate Foundation Greenpeace Tides Foundation A Swiss asset management company, called Furka Holdings, founded by a banker with Russian links, which gave £50,000 the band Radiohead So far, this is what the funders have paid for
Quote:
Prevented a man from saying goodbye to his dying father because their roadblock prevented him getting to hospital in time. Exposed the police to ridicule after one officer was filmed skateboarding to show how down with the green kidz he was during a protest at which Extinction Rebellion had blocked an entire London bridge by turning it into a mini-Glastonbury. Cost the taxpayer at least£16 million for extra policing, plus untold millions more for the cost of dealing with the 1200 Extinction Rebellion activists arrested in 11 days of protests. Threatened to ruin the summer holidays of thousands of travellers with a plan (happily nixed) to use drones to shut down Heathrow Airport. Cost London businesses upwards of £12 million in lost revenues.
It's OK, because they care and the Earth has a fever.

I agree with all of this except heat waves. While our impact on heat waves is small it is noticable and beyond pure variation. We have beefed them up a little.

The refusal to accept proper scientific method for what it actually is, and to continue to evade falsification by non acceptance of it, does not mean someone *else* has a circular debate issue. Further, since actual science requires correct answers at every stage throughout an entire logical chain for any claim to be true, one could engage in the sophistry that science is itself a 'circular logic' situation because it is all self consistent when correct. I seek truth, not mere winning.

A link to Breitbart that then links back to a supermarket tabloid screed is a rather odd way to go about it. Surely, you can do better.

Surely, you can do better than intentionally employing a logical fallacy. If you can show their claims to be false, then simply do so. Of course, that's the issue isn't it. You cannot.

Some spot on fun from the Babylon Bee... Experts Warn We Have Only 12 Years Left Until They Change The Timeline On Global Warming Again
Quote:
Climate experts have solemnly warned that we only have twelve years left until they change the dates on global warming again. "If we don't take action, then in 12 years we will have to explain why the world hasn't ended and come up with a new number," one UN scientist warned. "This is a very serious threat, and we urge everyone to hand control of the economy to the government immediately before we have no more time left to change the timeline again." The scientific consensus is that roughly 10-12 years from now, the world will be flooded with new doomsday predictions. This can all be avoided if we overhaul the economy and become socialists, according to non-political, unbiased sciencey type guys. "Should we not change our ways, our old predictions will melt, dangerously raising the chance of us having to move the goalposts again," said Al Gore. "Do you really want me to write another book, film another movie, and go on another tour in my private jet just because you dingbats couldn't be bothered to alter your lifestyles? I don't think so. Let's all get on board with this 12-year figure, or we'll have to push back the date again."
