Thanks. Well its probably a good thing I didn't see Lider when I was there we might have had to have a little talk so he could try to explain himself.

I think Lider's main concern on Index-Galena is the funding source. Folks (including Mr. Lider and me), thought it was funded by ERFO. I did too, but it's a different source - makes sense now - Index-Galena is not a federally owned road, which is what ERFO funds. This source, titled "Emergency Relief," funds through a Highways trust, is a mis-nomer. It's for agencies that need a financial boost to get essential roads fixed after a natural disaster. See link here. So since that's cleared up, perhaps Lider & Co. is/are happy.

Well it would be nice if the ERFO would be used to fund the Miller River road washout since FEMA didn't pan out.

I just received this: Hello, The Index-Galena 6.4-6.9 project team invites you to an open house to find out about progress made since the February 2012 open house when the project was at the 30% design stage. The project is now at the 60% stage. A newsletter with date, time, place and more information is available on the project Web page. March 27, 2013 6:00-7:30 p.m. Park Place Middle School 1408 W Main Street Monroe, WA

Last time, they had Oreo's and Pecan Sandies! Their Open Houses are interesting; full of engineers.

I second you Hulk, I will be dead at the rate they are going with this project. This will have to rate right up there with the Bridge to No Where in Alaska and other mega $ milking at the tax payers benefit. I would expect caviar and truffles no less!......Kim you're way too slum dog expecting Sandies...... lol.gif

I could have rebuilt the road with a plastic spork in 10 years. clown.gif

We're only talking about 1/2 mile of road - you probably could have done it quicker.

If they would have declared that area an emergency, they could have gone in and rerouted the river back to it's normal course and had the repair roughed in within the week and not dealt with the Wild Sky mess. Give the pencil pushers that make up all the NEPA, REPA, MEPA, DEEPA, a foothold after the fact and you get a cluster that this is turning into and how many untold millions flushed down the toilet. At least they opened the gate and CG's on the Jacks Pass side. That took about 4 years too long..... shakehead.gif

Thats funny as hell and probably true ! ! ! But what about the design? Lets not put the cart before the horse. At the current rate the remaining 40% of the design phase should be completed in ONLY 6.6 years ! ! !

Well, I don't want to push it. One day folks're excited about Pecan Sandies, the next they're expecting macaroons and a goddam road repair. Naw; seriously - I think there are geology issues on the slope above the unrepaired portion. Last time I crawled around up there, we saw some wierdo-looking gauges with computer cables & stuff hanging out of pipes & whatnot.
