this is one of my favorite local hikes close to town with many variations and at 4-5 miles packs some neat stuff. take 7 mile road towards the orv area. just before the orv turn off,turn north onto state park dr (easy to miss) its a short distance to the parking area for deep creek canyon over look. at the lot go to the south end and pick up the unmarked trail down hill to a dry creek beddeep creek over look parking lot on state park dr. off of 7 mile rd, across the road from the orv turn off king and the malamobile pine pluff, riverside state park 003 pine pluff, riverside state park 005 dry creek bed
on the other side of the creek bed head up hillpine pluff, riverside state park 009
soon there is a fork,you can take either but i take the right fork and follow till you reachhorse parking at 7 mile rd & pine bluff rd
the horse parking lot at 7mile road and pine bluff rd. go up pine bluff rd across the bridgepine bluff rd
then another short ways up hill look to your right for trail 25trail 25 off pine bluff rd
now the hiking gets better.pine pluff, riverside state park 015 pine pluff, riverside state park 016 pine pluff, riverside state park 017 pine pluff, riverside state park 020 pine pluff, riverside state park 021
at the junction of tr 400 turn on this over a large down tree and past more rock formationslava rock formation,pine bluff
and down hill to connect with the centennial trail and the spokane rivercentennial trail spokane river
turn right,up stream a short ways to the confluence of deep creek and the spokane river where you'll find a bridge and a nice picnic areabridge at the confluence of deep creek and the spokane river picnic spot at deep creek and the spokane river spokane river harry & king, aka buckwheat
follow the centennial trail past the bridge for another 1/2 mile to the intersection for deep creek canyon overlook to your right. from hear it's about 1 1/2 miles back to the parking lot with a short stop at the over lookdeep creek canyon over look deep creek canyon over look
making a loop of 4.6 milesi didn't do that !
and of course my hiking partner king aka buckwheat likes to be a back seat driver on the way homeking,back seat driving in the malamobile

Cool. Never thought I'd see that hike on here. That is a good one; so close, too. My favorite part of that area is the narrow canyon that Deep Creek flows through. Never been there this early in the season, so maybe Deep Creek is actually flowing above ground at this point, making the canyon inaccessible. Every time I've been there, though, the creek is below the surface and you can walk the whole canyon from the parking lot down to the river. Very cool. At some places, the canyon must be no more than 40 feet wide. Lots of crazy rock formations that climbers frequent.
