Several of us skied this peak in the Teanaway in very nice weather on great corn snow. The Second Season has begun! I'm sure Randy will post some pics soon

I'm not sure that I can add anything to Don's verbose report, but I can say that the skiing was amazing! We enjoyed a 2000' run off the summit that was one of the best of the last couple of years. We skied mainly SW to W aspects from 6400' to 4400' before we hit consistent tree cover. Our route started very near 29 pines and included 5-6 miles of road before getting to the summer trail. Depending on how fast things melt, you're looking at about 18 miles round trip right now. Travelling along Miller Creek:

Nice trip! Getting a jump on the Teanaway? Did you mean to say that your trip was 18 miles? Wow!

Yup, Miller from 29 Pines is about 18 miles. By next weekend it could be a 15 mile trip. The area is melting out fast and south facing slopes are bare all the way up to 3800' if not higher.

Glad to hear spring corn is developing. Better for snowshoeing or hiking as well as skiing.

Rub it in Randy! I shoulda, coulda, woulda, been there..... I'm off to southern Utah for a couple weeks but will be real ready to harvest the corn when I get back. Making me feel lazy having missed a couple of weeks now. It's great to see Robin on the top of a summit on the FAT skis!!!! Hopefully one of many trips to come. John

Did you check out the NF road at all? Sounds like your trip started before it? If you did check it out, what were the conditions? Haven't been over there since February and I'm sure it has been melting off quickly...

Opinions expressed here are my own.

Plenty of bare spots starting to show, but also still plenty of snow. I'd say you could probably drive half way between 29 Pines and the Stafford Creek intersection about now. Stafford was almost 100% snowed in, but the snow is thin. Depths ranged from one to two feet. With this heat it will go fast.

I believe you're looking at Stuart (left) and Sherpa. Odd angle with foreground blending.

Stuart is poking over the top of Navaho Peak. I added a few names to the photo.
