I started out near Salmon Meadows north of Conconully. Saw plenty of burned trees from the 2003 Isabel Fire. The Ridge was free of snow until about 6500 feet. Above that I was sinking to my waist in spots. A group of three signed the summit register the day before me and said that they fought off a cougar with their "bare hands". I saw scat and tracks but not the beast itself. Plenty of pictures can be found in the link below. (Sorry I didn't have the time to post them here).

Yes the TH is accessible by car, or motorcycle in my case. Actually the dirt roads in that area are in much better shape than I am used to. Very few potholes.
Most of the roads both in the Sawtooths and Pasayten are pretty sweet. The low snow totals and southern ridge exposures are making it quite nice, but anything high eventually becomes a slog, as you noted in your TR. Thanks.
