And they are the best strawberries you can eat ! twirl.gif I purposely avoided the California berries in the markets a couple of months ago. They may be large and red, but they taste like straw, not berries. Unpalpable drecht. The local berries are soft, mostly small, and have no shelf life because they bruise so easily, but flavor. WOW ! I dont think you should ever have to add sugar to berries, if its a good berry it doesn't need any. Nothing in North America can top the local berries. I am also turning up my nose at the cherries in the market, from California. Who do they think they are ? Don't they know we have the best cherries on the planet right here too. Also the fresh English peas are in the local stands, for anyone else besides me who cant get enough of these in thier short, short season. This is a great time of year to eat healthy and local. up.gif

There is a Biringer cart in front of the old Sunset Bowl on Market St in Ballard. It's across from the newish Safeway between 14th and 15th.

If anyone wants some strawberry plants I have a ton of extra. They send out babies every summer, so if you don't cut them off they replant and go nuts. I was neglegent in my child care last summer so I have plenty. There're just starting to get ripe, so if I can keep my peacocks away I'll be in seventh heaven by next week. Nothing like a home grown berry. Those pieces of wax from Calif should be outlawed! lol.gif
