There are so many beautiful trails around here! Someday I plan to stay for the whole summer and do them all! This is a nice trail and gives more of a workout than the Stehekin River Trail. It is steep up to a ridge area but after one mile, you start getting gorgeous views of the lake, river, and surrounding peaks. About 3/4 mile after that first viewpoint, you come to the intersection with the War Creek Trail. Last year, that was closed due to a fire in that area. At the ridge area, it is open; then heads down to a bridge. A little after that is a choice - straight to continue on the loop trail or up towards Rainbow Lake and other intersecting trails. We usually go up another mile to a shoulder with fantastic views of Lake Chelan.
