This was one of the few hikes I have not done in the MT Baker area. The hike was a pleasant suprise. You start off high at the end of Canyon Creek Road which is about 15 miles of mostly paved with a few rough spots alon the way. The trailhead is for three trails of which two the Damfino Lakes and Boundary trails for off in different areas to the right. The trail is uphill most of the way with some moderately steep areas. The first mile and a half is in a shaded old growth forest and then you enter areas of sporadic meadows with great flowers display. The meadows higher up were yet to blossom. We ended about three miles at a high knob with spectacular views. At different points you can see the peaks in all directions with sno-cone baker a stand out. Flies were present in the meadows but we did not see mosquitoes. There was one log climb over, some minor streams with clear water and a couple of easy washouts. There was a privy and a picnic table at the trailhead. Border Patrol Agents were there scouting the area.
