I'm [nearly] speechless. You kept me up too late reading this. Was Roger Jung ever found?

Best bivy spot of the year. Nice shot of lousy lake from on high, and I cannot see why the name either. The interesting geology, sure looks like a diabase dike that has oxidized like a basalt flow for some reason. Fay and Tom way to go. up.gif

Very inspiring. Great to see you two do a trip I'm sure you've both always wanted to do. Congrats to you both, and thanks.

puzzlr - to my knowledge, Roger Jung has yet to be found. A sad story indeed, he was one heck of a climber. peltoms - there were several of these dykes around Challenger Arm, and we used them as a sidewalk since they made it so nice for walking. P-I-B - funny you should say that Fay Rocks. Upon returning to the summit of E Fury to retrieve our gear, the two climbers who had climbed it while we were away on W Fury wrote in the summit register, "Fay, you rock!". biggrin.gif

Great job Tom! Another spectacular Pickets trip. Thanks also for the information on Roger, it certainly adds to the mystery.

I hit it like 7 times. I think it's either malfunctioning or the battery is dying. I need to get that addressed, because it's pretty much useless if it doesn't send messages upon request.

You haven't been reading the SPOT threads, have you? wink.gif Those things are absolute shite.
