So TNAB is on Silver Peak as we speak, er, read, um...they're probably descending right NOW! Dani wanted to do the TNAB Silver Peak hike this year, but I had to get up real early Friday morning so we decided to take pre-NABing to the extreme and went a day early. I wanted to call it WNAB, but was informed by the non leaders that I would be subject to a copyright infringement lawsuit. A compromise was reached out of court, and our trip became Wednesday Night On Trail. Ingunn and JK decided to join us, along with the Italians, Bobby and Wellie. We piled into the truck (Jasper was relegated to the canopy) and navigated Road 9070 to Windy Pass. We had no problems, but a lower clearance vehicle might have a problem. The trail was in good shape, with only a few muddy spots and a couple minor snow patches that Jasper took full advantage of. ~6 miles round trip with somewhere between 2,000 and 2,200 feet of total gain (best guess). Lots of mosquitoes. rant.gif A few medicore photos of mine (Ingunn and JK have much better ones that they will hopefully add):

I ended up with six mosquito bites I have on my face (I don't know what's worse; that they itch like the dickens or that they look like enormous zits), but it was all worth it for one (ok, three) of Dani's peanut butter cookies. wub.gif Except for the bugs it was a great evening, warm, a little hazy, lots of pretty flowers, a fun trail and good mix of skinny and morbidly obese dogs. I think I have to go back in the fall for huckleberries and maybe some Abiel and Tinkham. agree.gif

I would have demanded my acronym royalties in cookies had I known, can we renegotiate?

WNOT, cool! Like court criers heralding to the wilds the morrow's arrival of the royal TNAB! Like wizened flower girls spreading alpine flower petals on backcountry trails to cleanse them before the accession of TNAB's mighty feet! Like the ushers of great movie halls removing the popcorn and gum from the floor of ... well, you get the idea. biggrin.gif Ingunn, those are some really great photos - and I love the captions! lol.gif P.S. Oh, and how do we sign up for a WNOT?
