yes, that was me with GGW's friend! (GGW and another friend were filtering water and you missed them on the trail.) i didn't recognize you without your mossy mustache biggrin.gif that's pretty cool! cool.gif i'm glad to meet you and Cole biggrin.gif we did go to Cedar Lake and stayed the night there. that was a bugger going up but okay on the down! Since Goats Gone Wild is marking off the trails, we came back down to falls camp and headed to gray wolf pass and camped at the tarn below the pass. we did explore the area with the tarns and Kurt actually went up the saddle checked out Cedar Lake below. it is beautiful! i must go back to that area! sorry about your weight gain embarassedlaugh.gif i think i already gained 3 pounds back as hubby and i had mexican dinner! that margarita tasted so so delicious (i don't drink beer, as in your photo!). i was stung along the shore of cedar lake! good thing GGW is a nurse! any chance i can 'borrow' some of your beautiful photos? my photos worthy, maybe, of posting, before old camera's battery died bawl.gif

This trip was straight-up insane for what it offered... I don't want to give up too much of the itenarary but I will tell you this was our 4th option, Weather was all thunderstorms everwhere... This was a last minute plan that required driving all night leaving at 1245 midnight and arrivivng at the trailhead at 9:00 am on no sleep to start this hike.... Thanks to Dave(Alpendave) for coming up with this loop... Here are some of my pics....

SWEET!!! Great report, Trailjunkey. Your pixs are most excellent. up.gif up.gif Very cool to come back and see the trip in reverse. And you guys got the good weather, too. I'm sooooooo jealous. bawl.gif Well, at least now (with your pixs), I get to see the view from Grand Ridge. That was a steep bugger to climb from Cameron--and no views from the top--just rain, and more rain, and then some wind! rolleyes.gif rant.gif lol.gif Good news though, I think the trip whipped me into shape. I mighten even have lost a chin. (bc, STOP posting my fat pictures. rant.gif I'm skinny now. lol.gif )

.....leaving me wanting to return over and over in what ever capacity that may be, even if one day my knees are too old and I can only see the mountains from my porch. Jason Hummel

Maaan, it's been a lot of years since I've done a backpack, just day hikes. Checking out these Oly trip reports, I've got to put together some gear and do one of these loops.

LastManOut, superb photos! Is your pano #2 "Olympic NP" looking down the Cameron valley from Cameron Basin? and is pano #5 Needles taken from Cedar Pass?

Your correct Rodf. the second pano is Cameron basin looking North I believe down the basin. The Needle shot is looking east from Cedar Pass and the unnamed tarns are all around Cedar Pass... from Sequim you obviously know the place lol , must be a nice backyard...
