My condolences . I grew up in Kennewick but I am not aware of any Mountaineering club in the area. I'd probably start asking at REI and go from there.
Good luck with your move.

Why do people move here?

I'm fleeing the central oregon economy. Wages have been going down while the cost of living has been going up.

The economy seems to be shits just about everywhere I look anymore. it's getting more and more expensive to live here.

I noticed apartments are at a premium. Even the dirty nasty apartments didnt have any openings, I ended up settling on a 3 bedroom apartment for just myself because it was the only one I could find available.

We have one here in Spokane - might be the closest. Are you looking for courses or climbing partners...or something else?

A little of everything. I could definitely stand to go through the courses again and I think I am at the point where I would like to start tackling some of the glaciated volcanoes, and of course I dont want to be doing that by myself.

The Tri-Cities have a quite active hiking and mountaineering club!
InterMountain Alpine Club
Google is your friend! Searching "mountaineering clubs tri-cities" would have found it for you.
