There is something special about this peak for me. No other mountain in the Hwy 2 corridor dominates the skyline like Mt. Baring. Having done this easy scramble twice in the past I don't have it on any "to do" lists but it is probably the best scramble to take a friend on who doesn't get out in the mountains much.
Such was the case this past weekend when I had two friends in town who wanted to go for a hike. Mt. Baring has the most bang for the buck and the route is class two and easy to follow.
Since there have been so many TR's on this mountain I won't contribute anything further other then some great eye candy.
If you want to wow someone this is the place

Nice report and pics...your special connection with this mountain is evident in your pics. I can't say that I share the love though nor would I take friends that don't spend much time in the mountains. But I guess your friends are alot tougher than mine! It really is an impressive peak.
