More bagging of lakes for me. Id never been to Schaefer lake so away I went. First I had to ford the Chiwawa river. It wasnt bad at this time of year. On the way back I took a bath in it and it was very cold. The trail was five long miles of up up and away. I got in there in two hours. What a beautiful place.

Thanks for the pics and report. One lake I've been wanting to check out. Looks like you had perfect weather. Did you drop a line in?

That's too bad, looks like you had calm water. Hear there are EB in there, so been wondering if it's even worth taking a rod.

Nice bevy of lakes in your TRs, BPJ. I've been wanting to get back to Schaefer and Glasses while I still can this year. (I think I hear a clock ticking.) stuck.gif

US 2 to the Nason creek road to the Chiwawa river road. Up the Chiwawa to the Schaefer lake parking lot.

BPJ, I don't see any larches in any of your pics, was it too early or few up there? Weather is looking fantastic all next week, so I'm trying to decide where I'll go.
