I had a great hike today. Wagonwheel lake is worth the effort if you keep on going past the lake and up to the ridge line. What a great view up there. I could see the Sawtooths, Ellinor, Copper, Washington and a few other mountains I could not identify. I gained over 1,000 feet per hour and I reached the lake in just two and a half hours. So I'm still in good shape after sitting at home with a fever for almost three weeks. 6.3 miles Round Trip 3,900 feet elevation gain and loss. More pictures and a full report will be posted on my blog later. I saw one of Ranger Bruce's salal leaf faces.
