Well my first after work hike since restarting work about a week and a half ago. Sort of on the way home. Amazingly enough although it rained all day it was dry for the hike.

The sun even started to come out as I hiked up.
Rather large tree on Chirico trail. The loggers musta missed this one.

For the angry hiker.... This bud's for you. Well it ain't a bud but... Nice trailside litter.

The south launch point was nice but clouds obstructed any Rainier views.

I walked the road down to the fork back to the south launch point. The clouds seemed to move in and I though it might rain before I got back to the car but it didn't other than a drop or two.

Man this job thing sure puts a damper on the hiking. I need to adjust/get a routine for after work stuff. At least I work in Eastgate, so easy I-90 access.

In 20 years hiking on the Cable Line, I've been up and down only once without seeing another person, so come on out and join the after-work fun! Great pics as usual. Nice to get a bit of sunshine, eh?

If not now, when?

FYI for anyone heading to Poo Poo tomorrow (4/4), a group of people are doing ten laps on the Chirico trail in a 50k "race" starting in the morning. Should be fun to watch, especially towards the final laps. dizzy.gif

And some people say that trail is boring to do once... lol.gif I didn't see very many people yesterday (4/3). In fact I would often see more people when I was going up on weekday mornings. It was actually pretty nice as when I left for work in the morning I was prepared for an afternoon slog fest. Didn't even need to break out the umbrella or rain gear.

Are you sure that isn't a geocache?

You know I'm not sure. I was going to claim it on the way back and toss it in the trash, but got in semi jog mode on the way down and blew right by it.

Yesterday was my one day I knew I could get out and do something after work. The rest of the week is pretty full. I was expecting rain and got lucky but it wouldn't have mattered, I would have gone anyway. I'll probably be hitting Tiger from exit 20 as well since that really isn't any further (well not as much on the way home). Not a big fan of the cable line trail, especially the lower portion with all the sloppy sections. Also coming down isn't so good on the knees. I usually go up the talus/section line and come down the freeway trail.
