I hadnt been into Marten lake in twenty years, besides I didnt have a camera then. Off I went for the day. I met up with a guy and his dog at the roads end. He told me he was going into Hester lake. I said, "WHY"? he then dicided to tag along with me and spend the night at the lake. Good Lord but that's a crappy trail! I cant believe I took my mom up there twenty years ago.. LOL.

I was last up there about 3 or 4 years ago, I can't remember specifically but it was when my old Elkhound could still do things like that and he went with me. Took my raft and did some fishing. It was either early August or Late July and the water was like bathwater it was so warm. Caught a couple 8-10" but nothing to write home about. Someone had brushed out the trail that spring, a pleasant surprise. I'm guessing the mystery pruners haven't been back since...?

Ya. That is quite a bridge, PBJ! ....... Should help some people to understand why just replacing the damaged bridges isn't necessarily the answer.

Last time I was up there it was called Marten Lake. clown.gif Looks like you had a fun time. I don't remember the trail up to Marten being all that bad. I thought the Taylor River trail was harder on the feet (with all the river rock).

Fixed it! moon.gif The trail was gnarly. And yes the Taylor road/trail was hard on the dogs.
