Another great January trip. The conditions coming down were amazing--springlike on the old hard snow, then fall-like on the dry trail. If the temps had been a bit warmer, it would have felt like summer--in January. Can't remember ever experiencing that before. Another destination I would not have really considered in winter, but the conditions (and iron's steps) made it a relatively easy trip. The Painted Traverse looks very tempting--maybe this summer...

eek.gif up.gif Nice! that looks like a great trip! There is no way i could keep up with a 1,700ft per hour pace in crampons and snow. You guys are beasts!
