I wonder what the best trip report is on NWHikers.net? It's the non-trip report which is a mystery in NW History about the GT Mine. 25,000 hits. BTW, my only connection to the subject comes from lucky insider information. But, think about it - a mystery hike that folks, like myself, are truly interested in. Because it's a mystery.
In this world we have few puzzles to figure out in the woods. The trip reports show the way to everywhere - it's like looking at Hustler Magazine which leaves nothing to the imagination.
Perhaps this forum was built on trip reports the same way that the Mountaineers Club was built on publishing Harvey Mannings 100 Hikes books. Or Hustler Magazine. You can strip it and expose it. But, show me the mystery trail and I'll hike with you there.. After-all, it's a mystery.

I've got to say that for me the best trip report ever has to be UW Medical Center.
I'm just sayin'.
Every day a new adventure.

Does the exposing come before the stripping?
Of course I am referring to trip reports!

My vote is for the Tom, Dayhike Mike, Mr. and Mrs. Schmidt Watson lakes to Berdeen trip. Although I hesitate to name but one when there have been so many good TR's. Probably gotta add in but ONE of the many amazing Jason Hummel adventures.

That one Alpine Lakes adventure last year was another classic, when they went off-trail to explore many of the lakes in the region of Mount Daniel and Mount Hinman. I loved those foot shots on the raft!

Choosing "the best" photos for the calendar this year was hard enough. To choose a "best" trip report is futile. There are way too many variables and individual preferences to begin to narrow it down. It's funny how our human nature always wants to keep score, judge and compare. I've generally been the kind of person who looks for good in everything so when it comes to trip reports, I have to say....it's all good. Well, mostly.
