Am am engrossed in this set of fantabulous fotos! I am shivering and astounded by the gumption to reach Ruth and plop down and take in the magnificence. The translation of what was seen in to photographs is wonderful, full of luck and nearly always artful. Kudos! There are so many extraordinary images in these posted shots that I can only weep that I can take a lifetime to try to touch any one of them! The vast scan, the "ultra" pano is a marvel! You guys rock! Brava! Bravissima!

You know, I've gone over the pictures and report 3 times now. I'm just so thrilled by this area! My last time to Ruth and Icy were during the Nooksack Traverse, a ski traverse I'd come up with in my desperation to get to Icy Peak and the Nooksack Glacier in an interesting way. You guys should do. You'd really get a kick out of it! Go up the White Salmon Glacier, camp below the summit pyramid, climb shuksan then cross the crystal glacier, drop down the nooksack glacier beneath cloudcap peak, climb Icy then camp between icy and ruth, then climb ruth and descend out to hannigan road. GREAT TRIP. Oh, and you got a photo I've been looking for on every single trip I'm out in the fog. I'm soooo jealous of your specter.

Well, if I'd realized you can be in two places at once, I would have invited you. dizzy.gif

I oogled your photos on flickr but the write up was well worth revisiting them here. Amazing. up.gif up.gif My sister-in-law recently asked me if hiking is really all that fun, citing the fact that it often looks wet, cold and more like hard work than enjoyment in our pics. I think I'll send her your vimeo link as a way to explain why I tromp around the I-90 corridor in the rain at night. Someday all this low land drudgery will pay off and I'll have the stamina to earn a view like this. A girl can dream, right? hmmm.gif

Seeing all these trip reports makes me feel cheap even though I gained more elevation gain last weekend than climbing Rainier! up.gif up.gif Nice! I want to come here some time myself.

Hot Damn!!! By far the best pics I've seen so far this year. Those peaks are on my list and this TR bumps them up a notch. Thanks for posting.
