Many thanks to two other members of this list--one who told us how to find Jay Lake and the other where to download a map. This was a nice just get out and walk hike. We figured we covered a very easy 13 miles. All the trails were in great shape with no snow anywhere and not much mud. Our wildlife viewing consisted of two deer and what we thought was a Bewick's wren singing at Jay Lake. We enjoyed lunch in the sunshine at Pebble Beach. We met two trail runners just after leaving the lake and two bicyclists, one being the park ranger, as we finished. The best view is still under the power line just at the start where you see Baring, Index, and Persis.
Hey you got out a bunch here. Thanks for the report.

Another good reminder for a marginal/rainy type of day lowland hike... I haven't been up there in many years and never beyond the upper falls or to any of the lakes.
