Thank you for your interest in the non-motorized trails of Reiter Foothills Forest. Our records indicate that you have signed up to attend the Non-Motorized Trails Field Day scheduled for Saturday, February 27. Here are the details about the about the field day: RSVP by February 25: Please confirm that you are planning to attend the field day by emailing us at reiterfoothills@dnr.wa.gov no later than noon on Thursday, February 25. We need this information so that we will know how many people to expect for the day. Date: Saturday, February 27 Time: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Place: Meet at the large gravel parking area off of Reiter Road, just west of the gated road to May Creek. There are many ecology blocks along the road in this area and a large Reiter Foothills Forest Sign. Look for the DNR meeting sign visible from Reiter Road*. *If you are unfamiliar with this location please contact David Way @ 360-333-5741 for more detailed directions Agenda: We will visit the May Creek area on foot. We will travel to different locations north and west of Wallace Falls State Park to discuss different non-motorized trail features and use areas. We will be taking hikes (1-2 miles) through the woods which may involve uneven and steep off-trail terrain and possibly crossing streams. Please bring: Lunch, water, rain gear, boots, or other footgear for walking in muddy and wet conditions. Be prepared for any and all field conditions and weather. There are no facilities (such as restrooms) in this area. Please do not bring pets or domestic animals. Transportation: DNR-provided transportation is limited, so please be prepared to car pool to points of interest if possible. We will travel on gravel forest roads, so SUV-type vehicles are appropriate. We will not be traveling off-road in vehicles, but will be hiking (see agenda above). Thanks again for you interest in Reiter Foothills. We hope to see you this Saturday.
