Nice combination of Land Trust trail, off-trail and road walking.  Access via Mt. Home Rd. from Leavenworth.  I parked at the "End of County Road" sign and entered at the green gate following old FS and logging roads.

I went off-trail aiming for the bump just north of Boundary Butte crossed a saddle and fought my way up to the top.

After following the road down a ways, I looped out on the Canyon Crest Trail.

Passed through a delightful well-watered draw in this burnt area.  A few glacier lilies, cups and bells, but no sign yet of ticks, balsalmroot or GeoHiker's Hobo Camp. lol.gif  Great place to revisit in a month, perhaps with a mountain bike.

Thnx 4 the report up.gif

So did you start from the crest of MTN. Home road or one of the spurs closer to Safeway?

That's a gorgeous area.  I plan on taking my family (or a portion therof) up there in about a month or whenever it seems ok for me to walk on uneven ground again. (I'm up to 2 paved miles a day now  up.gif wheelchair.gif  toothless.gif )

I certainly noticed the haze here in Leavenworth,  not sure the cause but it created some interesting lighting in the late a.m. yesterday.

I was still able to glimpse some far off peaks as well as near ones.

Movenhike, I was able to easily drive up Mt. Home Rd, just off the start of East Leavenworth Rd.  Beyond the "End of County Rd", which is where I started hiking to access the ridge, there are some mud-holes, ice and then some snow, but going fast.
Yeah Rob, I'm ready for more hiking soon. I left the skis alone this weekend, but looks like they'll be put to use again this week.  hmmm.gif
