What a beautiful day for a hike! After much hemming and hawing we decided on a trip down Ingalls Creek trail, with the option of finding something else if the snow got to be too much. Already enjoying some time with very good friends, we struck off down the trail. Surprisingly, the snow at the beginning quickly became patchy. I guess it makes sense, the trail travels up and down and the closer to the river, the more snow remained. We turned back after about 3 miles or so, right after the views started. At that point we probably would have needed snowshoes. None of us had traction devices and we had no trouble with the trail, although in a few spots we could have used some microspikes or something. Totally doable without, though. A few pictures (not very good, I was concentrating more on the company than the pictures - I'm only posting them to give an idea of the conditions)

The road in was in fine condition, no issues or snow. Yana, that's how we make people feel safe, looking all fun and innocent like that. Then we laugh about it while we're dumping the bodies. Oh, we do love a good giggle.

Thanks for the conditions update. We're sure getting a nice dumping of snow now. That trail's on my list for some springtime hiking - list is pretty crowded, though, so it might be next year.
