Yep..looking for a few partners for Goat Lake (MLH) Plan on having a large mostly empty pack. Why?..here's why.....
It's jimmymac's photo. It is also an old photo, from 2007. As it is a few years i do not know if that mess has been cleaned up yet. So it might, or might not be there. To reach the potential mess it will require a raft or two, as it is on the opposite side of the lake as the trail. If there is nothing to clean up, no worries, nothing wrong with a hike with some like minded friendly folks. up.gif up.gif

Damn it, Hulk, I totally want to help with this - but with it being Easter, we have family crap to do. Any chance of putting it off a week? Or a couple of days? A week before?

I should add it might be nice to stop at the Mtn View Cafe in Robe for a bite to eat and a beer after the hike. biggrin.gif

I would definitely be willing to haul a pack load of garbage from the near end of the lake back down to the TH, and bring it to work and use the dumpster there. But I don't want to raft the lake or bushwack the shore. It sounds like more than one person in the raft would be counter-productive anyway. I'll bring my biggest backpack and line it with a garbage bag. I'll bring Daisy and let her carry my necessaries in her pack. I can haul quite a bit under the circumstances (all flat or down hill).

Add me to the list. I'm always up for a good garbage fest. I have a cool spot on Mt Pilchuck to camp if anyone wants to make a weekend of it. This weeks snow and low snow levels may put a kink in your plans, so we'll have to see.

What are we thinking about next weekend at this point? I'm concerned the lake may have frozen up again...

I guess 10:00 am would be a good time to start. As for the lake re-freezing....here's a trip report from the 27th. https://www.nwhikers.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7982255 Yea there has been some low elevation snow, but i doubt it will stick around for long.
