LAKE EDIZA: High Sierra Backcountry (a Mazama Outing) June 27 – July 02 Just east of Mammoth Lakes, California, we will find some of the most breathtaking scenery in the Sierras: spectacular alpine meadows, gem-like lakes, and rugged granite peaks. A gentle pack-in will take us to our campsite at pristine Lake Ediza (9,500ft), with views of the Minarets, Mount Ritter and Banner Peak. We will spend 4 nights here in the Ansel Adams Wilderness, and plan to climb Clyde Minaret (class 3-4) and Mt Ritter (class 2-3). These are “scramble” peaks, mostly on rock, with some snow. Participants must be in good physical condition, and have recent experience on comparable peaks. We will include a “hike & photo” day to explore the area. Party size is limited to 6. Cost will be $132 to $155 depending on party size. summitpost.org (AREAS & RANGES / ANSEL ADAMS WILDERNESS) Questions, or to request an application contact: Robert Joy robertjoy@bigfoot.com

Sounds like a blast. Why only 6?

"If destruction be our lot we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen we must live through all time or die by suicide." — Abraham Lincoln
