I'm not going to even attempt to pick my favorite picture and quote it here. You guys make it too difficult with all your 'amazing destinations' and 'outrageous photos', geesh. Another fantastic effort, thanks for the great write up! Ok, I guess I favor 'dicey in the basement' and the aptly titled 'Amazing views!' if you really press me to choose winksmile.gif

up.gif That's an awesome summit, with great views. The snow covers quite a bit of very loose rock right now so it's actually good timing for that one. You guys are on a tear. I took a shot of Robinson from East of Twisp Sunday.

4pm at the Mazama store, waiting for my 6:30pm pick up for Robinson on Sunday.
Luckily, they sell beer and books for entertainment up.gif They are also doing some remodeling, and the inside is quite spacious now. I attempted Robinson many years ago, but we turned around at the ridge due to a storm. I knew I wanted to return, and I knew I wanted there to be snow covering the talus. Snow makes this trip more palatable, with the exception of the false summit, which would be a lot easier without snow on it! Snow also has the tendency to cause other issues, such as long, ankle twisting sidehill traverses in crampons in the am, followed by long sidehill traverses in snowshoes in the afternoon, complete with sliding and postholing, avalanche danger, etc. Pick your poison, I suppose. Snow also reflects the sun quite efficiently, right onto your face, so don't forget sunscreen! doh.gif Thanks to Franklin for not giving up and leading the snow covered rock crux on the false summit - this would have turned me back for sure, which would have been heartbreaking after gaining over 6k to that point. Also thank you Bill for belaying me down the crux on the way out. I whimpered a lot! ("Hold me, you got me? Hold me, you sure you got me!!??") embarassedlaugh.gif Great trip!!

Wow, you guys are crushing it! When I climbed Robinson in June of 2002, I saw four rattlesnakes within the course of 1/4 mile on the first part of the trail above the parking lot. There is a couloir on the N side that Roper dubbed, "Crusoe Couloir". Apparently it makes for a great ski. (MtnMan, Randy, BigSteve, and co).
