Today Maria and I decided to see if we could find Lost Lake. I brought along a printout of GeoHiker's post with coordinates for getting there.
The total trip proved to be about 5.4 miles RT and roughly 660 ft elevation gain in and 150 ft gain out. Most of the climbing is in the start up to the clearcut.
Here are the shots. First couple are the parking area:
The initail traverse uphill:
Anybody know about this Jenny's Trail at where the traverse ends and heads uphill east:
A bit after Jenny's trail, the way eventually enters clearcut:
Now you'll head east for a while until you hit a T intersection. Take a left here:
The road dips down and up, passes a new tanktrapped road and arrives at a Y. Keep left here:
The way goes around a gully and passes yet another new tank-trapped road and soon arrives at a tank trap. Keep straight here:
very soon, you will hit another Y or T depending on how you look at it. The left is bermed. Keep right:
This was taken a bit down the road from the right turn mentioned above:
The way drops down to a small creek and bridge. Actually it's easier to just cross the creek itself:
Short ways later, the first of TWO sets of ecology blocks is reached:
You'll soon reach anohter one and keep on going. The way heads north and curves east to a three way junction...known as Trillium Wetlands. Ok, you'll see that the left is no trespassing. Keep right:
You are getting close to the lake by now. After quarter mile or so, nice woods are reached and here's a shot of that stretch:
I took this pic of the rules. Note...no dogs are allowed:
Finally, Maria and I get to Lost. Wow! Very pretty and a nice fishing dock to boot!
I had the pleasure of meeting Tyler here. Funny two fellow Nwhikers come here on the same day! We both tried fishing with spinners and I eventually got a small cutthroat that I released. I'll post the topo data on anohter post.

Thanks for the map, as there are over thirty "Lost lakes" in Washington.
Seems kind of strange they allow clear-cut logging, road building, fishing docks, etc, etc, but no pets. I would think pets would be banned at places that have not already been thoroughly raped, or are in a drinking water watershed.
