i know i've read that the most remote spot, as judged by noise, is somewhere in the olympics. what's the most remote peak as judged by distance from a road? how about the most remote as judged by difficulty of access (many opinions here i'm sure)? the peak should probably have prominence.

Dana or Wilder, on the upper elwha, are close to the center of ONP. That should earn them a spot on the short-list at least.

Am I missing something? Fury is less than 10 miles from Hwy 20. Edit: I'm guessing that was for remoteness in terms of access...

I think Luna is more remote if only a scramble. Plenty more remote than Fury. How about Moxs? Does the boat count as a road?

How many people have been to Crystal Peak in the Olympic Mountains? It was first climbed in 1976.

Redoubt is very remote, if you can just forget about whats north of the 47th parallel. It's a very important peak too. Btw.

Yeah, it's Upper Crystal Lake. It's huge. Biggest in the Oly's over 6000ft.

Did you go down to it? 8 days off trail. Id bet thats close to a NWH record. Nice work. What county would you say that's in?

Very cool Dane! 8 days in the Oly's is some kind of a trip up.gif I hope to hike deep into the heart of the Olympics this summer because of its remoteness

Wow! Great picture Dane. Was the weather like that the whole trip?
