Hi Silence, - nope we were not in Glacier Basin last year (though we'd love to have been!). Skimpyphud - I am not sure how often this is done solo. Under the right conditions I could imagine it would be a reasonable solo climb for someone comfortable with climbing alone on steep scambling terrain (brush, dirt, rocks), some navigation (the "path" is not obvious between 4300 and 4800 ft as you ascend to the ridge before the snow basin) and steep snow. There are a number of places where a slip could easily result in getting banged up (or worse) so I'd have to say it would be much better to have someone else along - in my opinion. There is also some avalanche hazard in the gully (and on the step out of the gully) but it was pretty stable last weekend. If you do go - be safe - and enjoy!

Thanks Arete. I hit this one today. 8.5 hours round-trip.

Pain is just weakness leaving the body.
