Today was the day. Clean up day! Scheduled to happen earlier this year but delayed by late season snow. It was interesting to watch this event evolve, and turn into a car-camp social the day before, then clean up day today. Most of all, just plain coincidence that it happened on June 13th. What's the significance of June 13th? Well another clean up took place June 13th 2009....Lake Isabel clean up. Today's event however was pure grunt, no air lift was used to assist this time. Four fully loaded inflatable rafts were needed to portage the trash across the lake. Once the portage was complete, the trash was divided into eight back pack loads. Yea there was that much trash left there. To be honest...when i first landed my raft, i was stunned, and concerned that there might be too much trash to pack with the available hikers. But we did it. Everyone who participates in this site should be proud of what can be accomplished when just a handfuls of us make a grass roots effort like this. And thanks to everyone who helped. There is no way just one individual could have done this job. Anyway....i am exhausted, time for me to get some shut eye.....here are some pic's

Remember. If you ever run into a trash pile too big for one person to handle...DON'T JUST WALK AWAY IN FRUSTRATION. Take photo's and post them you there will be people who help clean it up. Even if its a little bit at a time.

Great job Brian, sorry I couldn't join you guys/gals. The dark gray skies this morning made me hit the snooze alarm one too many times. I did find Lost Lk today it's been missing for a long time. That's disgusting that slobs can haul that much stuff in and just leave it. Was one big camp/mess left or did it look like a progressive junk pile? I hope the bad karma catches up to the slobs. Thanks for your efforts.

Yes it was wonderful meeting everyone I hadnt yet met. It was also nice seeing everyone again. Gotta give it up to the Sluggmeister. He was captain Ahab his first time out! We had a lot of fun. It turned out good that Sluggo wanted to stay around the lake a little longer. I ended up running back to the car. Lake to car, 58 minutes. LOL! A great time. Thanks again Brian.

Sorry I didn't make it to Goat Lake today... I started but didn't get very far becuase my feet were killing me from the 18 miles on Saturday. I think I need new boots. It looks like it was a great success! Congrats.
