That picture is just fcking amazing. I went there 3 times last summer only to have to turn back twice because of lightening, hail, steep, dangerous snow, etc, until I finally got to the lookout. My pics don't even compare to that one of the night sky.
I know what you mean; it is a tough haul, even in the best of conditions. But the payoff, my god the payoff...!

The star shot is absolutely fantastic! May I ask what camera, lens, and settings you used for that shot?
I'll just start by saying that I am amazed at the image myself. And I also want to acknowledge inspiration for this kind of shot came from the work of Steph Abegg and Jason Hummel, opening my eyes to the possibility of "night shift" photography.
The camera is amazing as well; I am inclined to change the brand name from Canon and start calling it the Hubble 5dii! The lens was a 24-70 mm 2.8, ISO 800 for 30s. The interior was illuminated by 3 candles. Happy hunting Gwizzzard!
