My 4 year old son Henry and I went on his 10th backpacking trip last week. The weather at Talapus was beautiful and the bugs weren't out yet- the chilly nights were totally worth it! We also had our first experience with a packraft- a 2 lb 0.5 oz FlytePacker from FlyWeight Designs. Paddling around in the lake and exploring added more to our trip than I could have imagined. It was a joy! I can't wait to get one on a river trip- there is all KINDS of potential here. Henry even slept on it for the ultimate in sleeping pads. We also did a big of geocaching up at Lake Olallie. A great trip!

Is there anything better than a Father/Son camping trip? I don't think so! Nice job Dad- you will both remember that trip for the rest of your lives.
