quick jaunt out to hwy 2 for a change this summer. leave seattle ~4:30am. hike in via merrit lake trail and do the loop from there. expect ~6000' gain and mileage between 13 and 16 depending on exact route and which book and/or TR you believe. can drive or ride with.

That's a great route. I think we used a bicycle for the shuttle. Didn't realize it was that much vert!
