Ok, I seem to think I may have asked this here before, years ago... but I'm askin again
A long while ago, during my aborted attempt at the PCT, my mom sent me my first on-trail re-supply box. One of the things it contained was a foil packet of Sue Bee Ham (almost 100% certain on the brand... but really, any brand would do).
It was awesome. Nice big fat chunks of real ham, just like if I'd cut bite-sized chunks from a leftover bone-in ham I'd cooked.
It made the very best red beans and rice ever.
I'd love to find a source for this, but Google has failed me, and I've never seen it in a store out here, though I look every time I pick up foil packs of chicken/tuna/salmon.
Anyone happen to know somewhere that still sells it?

Sadly I think it has disappeared. The stuff was great as you mention...sigh!
I will sometimes take the small cans of ham with me (like the cans of chicken for example) but only if I can find pop top ones.

Last year when we did an overnight on Ptarmigan Ridge, I packed in some cubed ham for our red beans and rice... while it was really good, it just made me think of the Sue Bee stuff.
Perhaps we should mount an internet BRING BACK THE HAM campaign.

That same brand was making chicken in a 3 ounce pouch as well. I'd love to see that nationally sold also!

Spam Single, also available in Spam Lite. I tried 3 of the latter on a recent multi-day trip. Quite tasty with cous cous.

I second the Spam singles.
Great for breaky , lunch or dinner with very little mess and waste, plus if your short on time you can just snack it right out of the pouch.
This is a product designed and packaged perfectly for backpacking.

Yeah, I don't mind Spam at all (Spamiyaki and Spam Masubi(sp?))...
But this was just so good. Like eating at home.
Le sigh.
