So, we tried the Vinacafe coffee packets recently, and liked them a lot. Not quite as good coffee as the Starbuck's Via, but they come pre-sugar and -creamed, which is nice.
Anyway, we got them from PackitGourmet, and planned on ordering more through them.
Today, we found them at Uwajimaya, in a big bag for 5$.
So, if you were looking for a good trail coffee, and didn't want to order online, there ya go

No, it's a completely different thing from VIA. I personally like one of each in my cup on the trail.

My GF, who is a coffee hound, thought the Via was better coffee, and will prolly continue to take some Vias in addition to these.
I, who haven't been a coffee snob since college, was perfectly happy with just the Vinacafes, and will likely only take those from here on out. Tasted good, and I liked the convenience of not having to bring separate sugar and creamer.

Gray, you combine the two? It is nice....the Vietnam and Thai style instant coffees are sweet so with a VIA added it cuts it down a bit.

The Folgers instant packets are great. The flavor is full-bodied and rich. It's impossible to mess up the flavor or outcome. As for creamer, we bring both powdered and liquid (french vanilla) Coffee Mate. Yum! The Folgers is a little spendy but it comes in two sizes: the 19 or 36 pack boxes. Waterproof/foolproof packets!

I combine the two. I find the 3in1 coffees don't have enough caffeine innum.

There are some instant coffee packets at REI that taste pretty good. Stuff is called Java Juice. It is in highly concentrated liquid form. You just dilute into your hot water (or hot cocoa), stir a time or two and then drink. Or you can just drink the packets straight and get wired. Might not be good for ultra-light because it has liquid already in it.

That and some might find the taste pretty revolting. I do.

We are very much in love with Via. Get em at Costco or from the occasional sale at Amazon and the price is pretty reasonable. I think 50 of the Italian roasts for $28 on Amazon.
Then for creamer, hard to beat good ol Bailey's. It doesn't go bad at least in most NW temps and it works well with cocoa or just by itself after dinner.

I bought some Vinacafe at Ballard Market, $5 for a bag of 24. It's definitely not great, but definitely cheap and easy. (I prefer a little coffee in my milk and sugar so it's fine for me.)
