The trail is dry and snow free to 4500', just past the waterfall. From there to the ridge at 4700' there's snow along the trail with a stream of water over the trail. The last 1000' to the top is continuous slushy snow. It was really windy (and cold) on top yesterday.
Of course all of this will change by Saturday when the next snow system moves in.
Some sunset photos

Beautiful. Did you sleep on top of Dickerman in the snow? Or did you hike all the way back down in the dark? Either way, kudos.

We got up there early and spent 5 hours on top. Left shortly after sunset and back down to the car by 8. I wouldn't have wanted to do that with snow or ice at the waterfall but it was just fine last night. Really warm down in the trees.

You gotta remind me what brand of headlamp you're using. It's working well with those fresh batteries!

Petzl Tikka Plus. The problem before wasn't with the headlamp - it's the batteries. It seems one out of 4 lithium batteries I buy are dead out of the box.
Another thing to note on this trip - it was the 104th time to the summit for the couple I was with
I had no doubt they could find their way down in the dark.

Hmm, never been up dickerman as of yet. But I think i'd practically kill myself trying being as I am out of shape. Oh, and my chiropractor might be a bit upset as i'm supposed to be taking it easy after my car accident. Maybe next summer? Looks beautiful though!

Your panos are perfectly clear. What do you use to stitch?

I do it in Photoshop CS4. I took 14 panoramas - all hand held & some of the others aren't as good.

Wow. I don't think I ever been on a summit for more than two hours, and it's usually just one. I have to try that sometime. Great pictures R!
