The head waters of Etienne Creek, formerly known as Negro Creek, is a really lovely area. Access to the area is best done by ORV or dirt bike but once off the bikes, and on the hiking trails, we didn't see anyone else.
We got a late start, as it was the first day of modern firearm hunting season, and I didn't want to be out in the woods at dawn. Turns out all the hunters were no problem, other that the sheer number of other quads\motorcycles in the area.
The Larches are just starting to turn, and in a week or 2 should be much better (The North side of Miller Peak is loaded with them).
