I'm up camping near the ski area, so thought I'd throw up some recent pics. The weather has been the most awesome this week I've had in late Oct. In the 70's t-shirt-shorts hiking at it's best. Someone said it's suppose to get snow?.......Hah, they are on drugs. It was partly cloudy and nice today. Some rain coming down tonight, but no wind, so that's fine. Hoping to get some snow pics by later tomorrow when the COLD weather comes in. Some light dusting going on way up high on Ruth and Shuksan, but that's normal. Big rumblings on Shuksan with a full moon, so it's good here camp side.
Update 10/25: What a couple days will do for yeah!....SNOW SNOW! dumping big time at the ski area and above 4,000 ft. 12-24 inches plus. You can't get up the Artist Pt rd. unless you have your serious winter gear and snowshoes wouldn't hurt if you want to get off the plowed road. It was closed this morning no doubt until next year. I'm hanging in here just below the snow level. Whiteness starts up above me by about 200-300 ft. Good thing I didn't camp at Twin Lks!.....

Great shot of Rocky. Such an intelligent look in those eyes.
I used to have a Blue Heeler back in the day. One of the reasons why I always enjoy your trip reports.
Thanks, ~z~
They are great, smart dogs, this is my second Heeler and he's an awesome dog. Bit OCD on sticks etc.....but that's ok. I forgot to mention. Stopped by the lower lodge at the ski area a couple days ago and met Mike. He let me load up on a ton of cut up lumber, shakes, and helped me cut up and load a bunch of cut up rounds off the dead trees that blew over in the far side of the parking lot.
Everything is ready to go for the skiers. DOT got up the bamboo wands, so you're driving pleasure won't be disturbed by driving off the road. If you drive off the road then you are on your own.....
