zero like the previous 5 or so years. I live in Downtown Redmond and there is a new complex of huge apartments across the street that has a fair number of kids I use to love Halloween and as a kid we went out for three hours all over the place for a mile around. sad there will be a bounty of candy at work From me, Almond Joy, Take Five ( a great trail snack by the way) and PayDay

Only 2, and they didn't come from very far away. One was from the house next door and the other was from the house across the street. We live in sort of a cul-de-sac that doesn't get much traffic. But at least I got my 16 and 22 year old sons to carve jack-o-lanterns for the front porch.

Has the law of supply and demand broken down completely? The stores stock and sell huge quantities of Halloween candy, plus an amazing variety of Halloween decorations. Somewhere, I saw that we now spend more than $70.00 per person on this 'holiday'! But the number of kids participating in what has traditionally been a kids day just seems to goes down and down. frown.gif The decorations don't go on doors; they go inside for adult parties. And the candy? I guess it mostly winds up at the office. Anna Mae

Accidentally ran into some trick or treating madness on top of Queen Anne hill yesterday around 5PM. Hundreds of kids out collecting candy from the local stores.

We went to about 60 houses last night. We got about 30lbs of candy-between 2 kids. Score!

Art is an adventure.

There were several houses in our neighborhood (Wedgwood) that were really decorated big-time. One house had a family of six full-sized skeletons posed and having a picnic on the front lawn. Another had four huge jack-o-lanterns suspended from a tree. There was a giant spider on one front porch, with a full-sized mannekin wrapped up in web upside down. Scary! I think those places really draw the kids. I might have to do a little more decorating next year. We had a couple dozen kids stop by. One kid was wearing a signboard with dots on it. She was the Pike Place Market's "Gum Wall".

I've had zero for the last 26 years at my house. I've long quit leaving candy on the porch as the area dogs refuse to wear costumes.

Next year, instead of buying a bag of candy "just in case", then getting stuck with it, I think I'll "give out" shots of Patrone tequila. hmmm.gif

74 at my house last night. Down from last years 90 and way below my record of 120.

ZERO at my home... Not that I "really" expected any... I live almost 2 miles off the HWY at the end of the road... right before the earth drops off. My closest neighbor that lives out here full time is about half way to the HWY and doesn't have small chilluns. I do buy the smallest bag of candy (that I like) each year, hoping that someone will stop by but... end up eating it myself. Slugman might be onto something there for next year... biggrin.gif

It's all about the fun, oh and maybe the chocolate - half fast

15. Trick or Treating is pretty new to the UK. Our two carved pumpkins outside by the door were a big hit. It seemed none of the locals had seen a carved pumpkin with a candle inside.

I very badly wanted to embed a youtube video of the Coneheads handing out "mass quantities" of beer and fried "chicken embryos" but apparently there are copyright laws or something. huh.gif wink.gif So, I went to Hulu, where it's all legal because you have to play a commercial first. But even then I only found a couple of Conehead videos. So, here's a good one, not Halloween, but still hilarious anyway. http://www.hulu.com/watch/4187/saturday-night-live-the-coneheads-at-home
