Colola to Faro de Bucerias- Part 18 of the Coast of Michoacan

http://home.comcast.net/~alpinelakes//Coast_of_Michoacan/hikes/colola.html

This is one of the best walks on the coast. A dozen kilometers of fluffy gold sand are enclosed between steep granite headlands as the coast begins a sweeping, multi-point turn to the north. Along the way you'll find the Colola turtle camp, bat caves at Ximapa, a beautiful lagoon at Motín de Oro, surfable waves at the spectacular Playa Llorona and a nice forest trek over the hill into Faro de Bucerias. You can camp almost anywhere along this route, and there are cabanas for rent in both Colola and Faro de Bucerias.

cheers, alpinelakes
