My friends and I went camping on 1571 off of Cascade River Road near Marblemount. Woke up this morning to a foot of snow. Tried to drive out, now our cars are stuck up around mile marker 13. Only one of us had a vehicle that could get out of there, and he drove us home. So, we have 5 cars stuck up there, and we have to get to our jobs at some point. Anyone know who to call?

Wow, that sucks. Those guys actually showed up this time? I have a friend with some off road vehicles and a trailer, however, I am not sure if he is available. A wrecker would be wallet breaking, for me I would try to get a friend to help and pay them for time and fuel. I will try to get a hold of my friend and if he is interested, I will send you a PM, although it won't be 'till morning at this point. Hope you guys get out ok.

Go placidly amid the noise and waste, and remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof.

Wow that sucks. I can deal with a foot of snow no problem, might even be able to drag an extra vehicle. But i cant get away from work. I hope you can find some one who can help soon.

i'd try to call a plow service first. might be easier and cheaper to plow the road than to try and tow the remaining vehicles. not sure how that works on FS road though...

I'd check in Concrete, Lyman, Hamilton for a logger/farmer with a big rig that could drive in and tow yeah out. Bars would be a good place to find some help. CB used to be the go to radio for help, but I don't know if that's in much use around there now. Take a run up the Mt Baker Rd. and find some one that has a plow on the front of their vehicle. Pony up some $$$ and I think you wouldn't have too much trouble finding some one willing to help.

Anybody know the name of the nearest wrecking/towing company near Marblemount? Looks like that might be my only option. County sheriff was no help.

Wow, sorry to hear all that bad news C.H. Least ya got your car back. I can imagine the fun of dragging that thing out. I would chalk that one down to the lessons of the Great Pacific Northwest.

...wait...are we just going to hang here or go hiking?

Re-looking at the time frame posts I don't think he did yet. A Toyota truck will get ya anywhere...but dragging a 2500 pound car out seems a tall order. I am surprised C.H. could even find a wrecker to do it. No easy answer on this one.

The five of you need to get a package deal. After a truck has pulled out the first couple of cars, it should get easier for the last few. Good luck, that's a tough situation.

In the big snow year of 2000(?)(the year Mt. Baker broke the world record) I found a pretty nice car buried in the snow way up on Mallardy Ridge. Rd. The snow/ice had crumpled the roof and windshield. Looks like they tried to turn around, got stuck, never got back to it. Better $600 than that. Tom

If you get a chance go up and have breakfast at clark's cabins, that is where all the locals hangout, they would probably know someone that needs some extra cash ( the town goes broke when highway 20 closes ) If your not up too far on 1571 your elevation should not be that high. Maybe after last nights rain the locals would be willing to help more. Good Luck
