I have a very old style Natural Balance with the giant expedition front pockets. As I recall it was a 60-70 liter pack including the giant expedition pouches.. Before I messed up my knees even more than the US Army did, I would put 25 pound of rice in the back and between 5 and 10 pounds of rice in each giant front pocket. Fiddle with all adjustments to get everything where it belongs and secure then worked myself up to one hour per day hour walking as fast as I safely could on the treadmill at full incline. About 6 weeks later with an hour per day 6 days per week, I went from 230+lbs to 189 pounds. Prior to getting the Aarn Natural balance pack ,I was doing the same treadmill and weight with an Alice pack. WOO BUDDY. What an improvement. Hopefully i am going to start that program again soon. There ls not a foot vision problem as you can adjust the width between the front pouches. And you possibly could get by with smaller sized front pouches.Climbing over downed trees might actually be better as your balance is significantly improved. Brush busting would be more difficult as you no longer could not turn sideways to have a thinner profile. I also have an Aarm Magic Mountain 55 but have not dialed it in yet. While the front to back balancing takes some planning to balance the front and back load weight it is really worth it but the very best part is all the stuff you can carry upfront with instant access. I just purchased an EXPED LIGHTENING 60 from a member here and I will probably purchase Aarn balance pouches for that bag. Other than a wider profile. I have nothing that I think needs to be changed. and the 2 or so(I use trash liner rather than the provided waterproof bags as they are heavy)pound of extra weight, I doubt that you will notice it. Paul
