Today EastKing joined me for a trip up to Little Ranger Peak. Drive 410 East and turn onto Road 7160. We parked at a TH just across the river on the left and walked back to the hwy and headed straight across and went up the embankment. We found the trail and headed to the right. Not long after we were heading up the Ranger Creek Trail and were soon high above the creek.

The snow was light on the trail and we made good time on the switchbacks. Finally at about 4200' the snow got a bit deeper with a layer of crust on the top. There were no views along the route frown.gif

Before long we donned our snowshoes and soon found ourselves at the shelter on the ridge.

From the shelter we headed west along the ridge.

We reached what we had believed to be the summit, but now I'm beginning to question that due to seeing photos taken of the summit in the summer and it didn't look familiar. Needless to say I now have to return and make certain that I do attain the summit... Anyway, we had a fun day and returned to the car with darkness falling upon on.

Right in the middle there is a dark line going up, that's where we went up and quickly met up with the trail and headed to the right.

It was an excellent adventure Bryan. What a great peak to hit in questionable conditions. If there is such a think of a good peak to go to in moderate to higher avy danger this is it. up.gif up.gif I wll be posting my pictures very soon.

YouTube | SummitPost Saw the depths of despair. Now I am salvaging what time I have left on Earth.
