Both are probably extra weight right now. There are no mjor open slope on this route up to the summit. And the snow is still soft now.

They are not needed at this time of year. The only reason I would bring an ice axe is either if I wanted extra support when breaking trail (I don't use ski polls) or for the glissade, besides that you would not need one at all.
