Mid Fork Rocks

The last two hikes with my daughter were not-so-pleasant bushwhacks, so I promised her a (mostly) snow free trail this time. I was having a hard time meeting that requirement, but then decided to head over to Ellensburg and Umtanum Ridge. I expected a cold winter wind and brought lots of clothes, but what we got was a warm almost spring-like day with bright sunlight. I also gained cred by providing a trail and no snow. Best part of the day was the herd of mule deer on the ridge above us: Pics

Picture of what we called the "crater" all day. At home I found out that this was formed as an old bend in the river.
