Saturday decided to slip out after the morning dog walk hoping to beat the rain and walk up to East Tiger.

Of course as I arrive it starts raining. Ok maybe this will be an umbrella hike but by the time I am ready to start walking it stops and would not rain again the entire walk. Saw a few people coming down but for the most part a solitary road walk.

Got to the junction and they have apparently fixed the washout after you turn right. It used to be blocked off for motor vehicles with big cement blocks.

I started down and on a spur of the moment I decided to take the back trail down the other side. It is steep and slippery in places and beaten up pretty good in places from the mountain bike traffic but no big deal.

I rejoined the road and made it down before any rain started. Also saw more people than I think I ever have going up the road. Most on foot a few on mountain bikes.

Near the bottom gate I went to explore a spur trail which leads you under the powerlines. I turned around here.

A few minutes later I was back at the car and still dry. Nothing spectacular but not a bad little spur of the moment trip especially when the weather is iffy.
