We wanted to take advantage of a sunny Saturday, but a promise to babysit our young granddaughter kept us close to town. Solution? A short dayhike up to the summit of Twin Peaks. We parked our car at the end of the pavement of Number Two canyon. A burly 4WD could have made it to the second gate. We walked up the snow covered road (much icier on the way down) until reaching the trail that veers off to the right. Spotted about a dozen deer while making our way up the trail.

The trail reconnects with the road up higher. From that point, it was mostly a snow covered walk to the western summit (4621'). Great views, and little wind.

Looks like a cool place! Glad to see you get out and enjoy the weather.

Twin Peaks is always awesome. I was up there last weekend, I don't know about now but then that road was icier than heck! Even the dog couldn't stay upright!

Ok, I give up. My map searches show 4 Twin Peaks (MLH by Dickerman, Monte Cristo area, NF Snoqualmie, and White Pass) but not this one. Where exactly is it, other than somewhere near Wenatchee?

Right on the western edge of Wenatchee. Access from either Number Two Canyon road or Horselake road. It's the two highest humps in the foothills just to the west.

The reason you probably couldn't find it is the map calls it 'Horse Lake Mountain'. up.gif
