A few buddies and I climbed Colchuck Peak near Leavenworth yesterday via Colchuck Lake, Glacier and Col. The snow around the lake is patchy and the trail is relatively easy to follow. Conditions were great with soft bootable snow to the col. The ridge scramble from the col to the summit was on alternating snow and granite with areas of deep post holing. Great plunge stepping and glissading was had on the way back down to the lake. Ice axes and crampons were used.
Bumped into you guys for a second at the col. Had a good view from across the lake of the boarder coming down the glacier. Looked like he was rippin it!
oops.. sorry. Guess I owe him a dew? It looked like it had been sitting there for a while.
mystery 1 solved, now to find out where them bananas in my cooler came from.
