A few buddies and I climbed Colchuck Peak near Leavenworth yesterday via Colchuck Lake, Glacier and Col. The snow around the lake is patchy and the trail is relatively easy to follow. Conditions were great with soft bootable snow to the col. The ridge scramble from the col to the summit was on alternating snow and granite with areas of deep post holing. Great plunge stepping and glissading was had on the way back down to the lake. Ice axes and crampons were used.

Oh yeah, he definitely made good time down the chute. Too bad the Mountain Dew he'd stashed near the lake was missing when he got down ... tongue.gif
